Skydance Paramount Plans to Remove Around 2,000 American Positions – Update

Paramount Skydance is scheduled to begin large-scale job cuts beginning on 27 October, removing about 2,000 US jobs as part of a expense reduction strategy valued at $2bn overseen by top executive David Ellison.

The layoffs follow the union of Skydance Media and Paramount Global, completed in August valued at $8.4bn.

Additional global layoffs are anticipated, with Paramount Skydance planning to announce all specifics in its third quarter earnings report set for the 10th of November.

Earlier reports stated the firm aimed to reduce from 2,000 and 3,000 jobs by the beginning of next month.

As of December 2024, the organization employed about 18,600 workers on full-time and part-time contracts and 3,500 contract workers.

Paramount Skydance has not provided a response regarding the report.
